REGINA — Developers have announced a new multi-residential project to be built at Grasslands in Regina.
The project, which delivers more than 300 new rental apartment units, including 31 subsidized units designed to support residents requiring more affordable housing, is being spearheaded by Harvard Developments and The RMS Group.
The development located within the Grasslands Shopping Centre will also incorporate main-floor commercial space.
RMS Builders Inc. will begin construction in the spring of 2026, with completion of the project in the fall of 2028. As the project will be constructed with two buildings, some residents will be able to occupy the building as early as the spring of 2028, according to a press release.
The residences will feature state-of-the-art smart home technology, similar to that found in many single-family homes, allowing easy control of security features, temperature settings and other in-suite functions. Each unit will include a private patio or balcony, and the building will feature underground parking, a pet wash, barbecue areas, fitness facilities and private gathering spaces, among other amenities.
Grasslands is a 1,000,000 sq. ft. commercial site in southwest Regina and is centrally located within the residential development known as Harbour Landing. The development features more than 90 shops and restaurants, ranging from brands like Bass Pro Shops, Winners/Home Sense, RONA+, Pro Hockey Life and Walmart, to a broad array of dining and service amenities.
“Grasslands has always been envisioned as a complete community … one that brings together retail, public spaces and housing in a walkable, connected environment,” said Rosanne Hill Blaisdell, president and CEO of Harvard Developments. “With strong demand for rental housing in Regina, this new development represents an important next step in meeting the needs of the community while supporting long-term growth in the district.”
