ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance as it investigates an assault.
According to an EPS report for March 14, police responded to an incident at Gibby’s Kitchen and Bar. The EPS reported a patron sustained “significant” injuries.
The EPS is requesting that anyone who can identify the man in a low-resolution image, or who has information regarding this assault, call the EPS at 306-634-4767 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at saskcrimestoppers.com or 1-800-222-8477.
In other recent police news, during the March 13 night shift, members attended a local bar regarding a man who was reportedly causing a disturbance and destroying property. Employees did not wish to proceed with mischief charges, so he was arrested for public intoxication and released when sober.
Members conducted a search of a person and residence, as the individual was bound by court-ordered conditions, including submitting to a search without a warrant. The EPS reported no contraband was located during the search and the man was found to be complying.
EPS members attended a domestic disturbance March 14 at a hotel in northeast Estevan. The EPS said an investigation resulted in a male being arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells until sober. No injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
Police attended a reported fight near Affinity Place. Several on-scene interviews were completed and the EPS said the matter remains under investigation.
A report came in of several youths attending a liquor establishment. Members attended and located four youths, including several with fake identification cards. The matter remains under investigation, and the EPS said the youths were charged under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act and released to the custody of their parents.
EPS members attended a residence March 15 to assist with the removal of an unwanted guest. On arrival, the woman left with no further issues.
Police attended a domestic disturbance in the central area. The EPS said a resolution was mediated with both parties and no further police involvement was required.
EPS members assisted with a missing person investigation in which a woman was located safe and well in the RCMP jurisdiction.
Several compliance checks were conducted on individuals bound by court-ordered conditions. All those checked were found to be in compliance with their respective conditions.
