ESTEVAN — A conditions check in Estevan on March 13 resulted in two people being arrested on drugs and weapons charges.
According to a report from the Estevan Police Service, members attended a residence on Second Street to conduct a conditions check on a 22-year-old man. The court-ordered conditions were in relation to a previous arrest for drug trafficking. While at the residence, the EPS said officers conducted a search in accordance with those conditions.
During the search, the EPS said police located a bag with a small amount of drugs in one of the bedrooms, containing items consistent with drug trafficking, as well as an electric stun gun.
The EPS said 22-year-old man, Hayden Neff, and 18-year-old Hailey Dawn Stewart were arrested at the residence and transported to cells. They are charged with one count each of trafficking cocaine, trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking hydromorphone and having a weapon (a stun gun) for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
Both individuals were lodged in cells and remanded into custody to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on March 16, where the charges were read. During their appearance, the Crown said it was opposed to their release and looking to revoke Neff’s bail. They remain in custody and are slated to be back in court March 19 in Weyburn.
