LLOYDMINSTER — A 40-year-old woman charged in connection with a significant ATM theft had an appearance scheduled in an Alberta court on March 19. Mandy Bredlaw wasn’t present and her matter was adjourned to April 9 in Calgary Court of Justice.
Bredlaw was arrested earlier this year and charged with break and enter, mischief over $5,000, and theft over $5,000. At the time of her arrest, she was also wanted on 26 outstanding warrants.
According to Lloydminster RCMP, the ATM theft occurred on Dec. 29, 2024. Officers responded around 10 a.m. to a report of a break-and-enter near 39 Avenue and 50 Street on the Alberta side of the border city. Investigators determined the machine had been forcibly accessed and more than $130,000 in cash had been stolen. Damage and replacement costs for the ATM were estimated at nearly $30,000.
The investigation included canvassing nearby businesses for video surveillance and obtaining numerous judicial authorizations. Through their investigation, officers identified Bredlaw as the suspect.
