SASKATOON — Saskatoon police responded to four separate stabbings over a four-hour span Saturday morning, with victims located across several west-side neighbourhoods.
The first call came at about 7:15 a.m. on March 21, when officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Barrett Street for a report of a female who had been stabbed. Police found a woman with non-life-threatening stab wounds and she was taken to hospital by paramedics. Investigators later determined the stabbing happened in the 200 block of Forsey Avenue.
About 15 minutes later, at around 7:30 a.m., police were called to a business in the 3200 block of 22nd Street West. Officers arrived to find a 42-year-old man with serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. They provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. A search of the area didn’t locate a suspect.
A third call came at about 8:30 a.m., when police were dispatched to a medical facility in the 1700 block of 20th Street West for a report that a male had been stabbed. A 46-year-old man was found receiving treatment for non-life-threatening stab wounds.
The fourth incident occurred several hours later, at about 11:30 a.m., in the 1700 block of 20th Street West for a report of a male had been stabbed. Officers located a 25-year-old man with injuries consistent with a stabbing. He was taken to hospital for further medical care. While on their way to the call, officers also obtained a suspect description and were able to locate and arrest the 23-year-old suspect in the 1800 block of 22nd Street West. He has been charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 23.
