SASKATOON — On March 23, a sentencing hearing for Katlim Desjarlais-Kelly, who was found guilty of manslaughter last month, was set for May 21 in Saskatoon Court of King's Bench.
A jury convicted Desjarlais-Kelly on Feb. 13 in the death of 48-year-old Arden Panipekeesick.
Police were called to 238 Avenue K North shortly before 7 a.m., on Feb. 10, 2024, for reports of an injured man. Officers found Panipekeesick suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead, becoming Saskatoon’s second homicide victim of 2024.
