BATTLEFORDS — Update, March 25: RCMP are reporting a woman has died following a serious collision on Highway 40.
On March 24 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 40, east of Sweetgrass First Nation.
Officers responded immediately, along with local fire, EMS, and STARS. The investigation determined that a truck and an SUV had collided on the highway.
The passenger of the truck was declared dead by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 21-year-old woman from Saskatoon. Her family has been notified. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital by STARS for injuries described as serious in nature.
The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital by ambulance for injuries described as serious in nature.
Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
