Update: A freezing rain warning that was in effect March 25 for Regina and other areas in southern Saskatchewan has been lifted.
According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline, routes in the affected area are listed as partially covered.
Communities within 33 RMs were also affected.
Meanwhile, a special weather statement for parts of central and northern Saskatchewan has been lifted, but a snowfall warning is in effect for communities in 45 RMs in eastern Saskatchewan. The agency says snowfall with total amounts of 15-20 centimetres is expected in the affected areas.
"A developing low-pressure system will bring accumulating snowfall to the region starting Wednesday morning [March 25] and continuing through Wednesday evening and overnight. The exact location of the heaviest snow remains uncertain, but significant accumulations are likely in some areas."
Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow, the warning states.
SaskToday will have updates as they become available.
