TROSSACHS – Weyburn RCMP have charged a man with break-and-enter, possessing stolen property.
Weyburn RCMP have charged a man following a report of a break-in at a rural residence near Trossachs on March 14.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the residence. Surveillance cameras on the property assisted police in identifying a suspect and his vehicle. The suspect was located at a residence in Minton and arrested on March 15.
Upon further investigation, a search warrant was executed at the Minton property. Officers located and seized items reported as stolen from the Trossachs residence, as well as property linked to other reported break-ins and thefts, including a truck and an ATV. Weyburn RCMP informed Weyburn Police Service of the recovered items, as some of them were reported as stolen in the City of Weyburn.
As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old man, from Minton, is charged with:
- three counts of possession of property obtained by crime;
- one count, breaking, entering and committing;
- one count, theft under $5,000;
- one count, motor vehicle theft;
- one count, failure to comply with probation order; and
- one count, mischief under $5,000.
The accused was remanded into custody until his next scheduled court appearance on March 25.
Weyburn RCMP continue to investigate.
