The Highway 10 series is all square.
Keil Schmalz scored the go-ahead power play goal early in the third period, lifting the Melville Millionaires to a 4-2 win over the Yorkton Terriers in Game 4 Friday night, evening the Best-of-7 quarter-final at two games apiece.
Schmalz wired home the winner through traffic from the top of the circle at 9:10 of the third, a goal that stood up the rest of the way.
Wesley Olson, Jaden Kokosha, and Hudson Binder also found the back of the net for Melville in front of a packed crowd of 1,809 at the CN Community Centre, where fans also pushed the 50/50 jackpot past $32,000 for the first time ever.
Matt Spencer-Dahl turned aside 32 of 34 shots to earn the win, while Yorkton’s Callum Creig made 25 saves in the loss.
Brett Buckley and Cash Lanigan—on the power play—provided the offence for the Terriers.
The series now shifts back to Yorkton for a pivotal Game 5 Saturday night, before returning to Melville for Game 6 on Monday.
