ASSINIBOIA — There are some new faces at Assiniboia’s RCMP detachment, as announced in the latest edition of their newsletter.
Kyla Ross accepted the part-time DSA position and started with the team at the end of January. Kyla grew up in Assiniboia and recently made the move back to town with her family. With there now being two DSAs again, the Assiniboia detachment will be transitioning back to being open over the lunch hour.
“The second new face in the detachment is Cst. Arneet Kaur. Cst. Kaur comes to us directly from Depot, having just graduated at the beginning of March. Originally from India, Cst. Kaur is excited for the opportunity to be posted in small town Saskatchewan and getting to know the community. If you see her out and about, be sure to say hi and help welcome her to town.”
Vanessa Mehrer is joining the team as RCMP Spiritual Wellness Advisor (previously the Chaplaincy Program). Vanessa will work with detachment members to provide support services for their well-being. She will also be available to attend difficult calls with members as needed.
“Vanessa is a Pastor at the Assiniboia Apostolic Church, and we are very lucky to have her on board,” as quoted from the newsletter.
In addition to these three new additions, the detachment announced that after seven and a half years in Assiniboia, Cst. Paisley Armstrong has decided to take a leave of absence to further her education.
“We are so thankful for all her hard work and dedication over her time here. We wish her the very best in her future.”
