BATTLEFORDS – Battlefords RCMP are investigating a report of a careless use of fireworks.
On March 28 at approximately 11:35 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report that individuals were setting off fireworks from a truck.
The investigation determined a group of individuals travelling on Highway 16 were setting off fireworks toward another vehicle.
The individuals involved were located and spoken to by police. No injuries were reported. Battlefords RCMP also received reports of the sounds of gunshots in the area, which were determined to be the fireworks.
The investigation continues.
Battlefords RCMP wishes to take this opportunity to remind people that fireworks should always be used in a responsible manner. Individuals are also encouraged to consult their local bylaws, which may set out rules around the use of fireworks.
