CODETTE – Nipawin RCMP are investigating after methamphetamine, fentanyl and loaded handgun found in a vehicle involved in a rollover.
On March 24, Nipawin RCMP received a report of a vehicle rollover near Codette.
Officers immediately responded.
The investigation determined a man and a woman were in the vehicle when it rolled. The man left the scene of the rollover.
The woman, who did not report injuries to police, was at the scene when police arrived.
Officers located a sawed-off firearm, a loaded handgun, ammunition, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 15 grams of fentanyl and approximately 149 unknown pharmaceutical-style pills in the vehicle.
The woman was arrested.
As a result of continued investigation, a 45-year-old woman is charged with:
– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine);
– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl);
– one count, possession (fentanyl);
– two counts, unauthorized possession of a firearm;
– one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device;
– two counts, unsafe storage of a firearm;
– three counts, possession of a firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle;
– one count, unlicensed possession of a firearm with ammunition;
– one count, possession of a weapon obtained by crime; and
– one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
She is scheduled to appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on April 4.
Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate, including locating the man that left the scene of the rollover.
