BATTLEFORDS – Battlefords/Unity RCMP have charged two people after suspected methamphetamine was seized during a traffic stop.
On March 28, Battlefords RCMP conducted a traffic stop in Battleford in relation to ongoing Unity RCMP investigation.
The occupants of the vehicle – a man and a woman – were arrested.
Officers had obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. It was towed to a secure police facility and subsequently thoroughly searched by officers. They located and seized approximately 126 grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden in a pizza box inside the vehicle. The substances will undergo further testing.
Resulting from the continued investigation, a 70-year-old man, from Wilkie, and 26-year-old woman, from North Battleford, have each been charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.
The two accused appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 30.
