REGINA — Three separate investigations by the Regina Police Service have led to multiple arrests and charges in connection with recent retail thefts and robberies across the city.
According tot he police, the first case dates back to February 2022, when two armed suspects entered a business on Arcola Avenue East on Feb. 18, 2022, threatening employees with a firearm and leaving with cash and other items. On Feb. 22, 2022, a similar robbery occurred at a business on Prince of Wales Drive, with two male suspects again using a firearm to steal cash.
Following a review of surveillance footage and evidence, police arrested 29-year-old man on March 18, 2026. He is charged with two counts of robbery and made his first court appearance on March 19.
In another case, Regina police arrested 25-year-old woman and 36-year-old man on March 24, in connection with three separate shoplifting incidents at a retailer on 11th Avenue. The suspects were observed acting suspiciously by alternative response officers and were arrested without incident. Both are charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and are scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on May 7.
A third suspect, 40-year-old man faces charges for five separate thefts over three weeks. Four of the incidents occurred at a business on Anaquod Road between March 3 and March 16, and one occurred on March 18 at a business on Dewdney Avenue. Using security footage, police linked all five thefts to the man, who is charged with five counts of theft under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on May 10.
The RPS continues to emphasize a multi-pronged approach to retail theft, including monitoring trends, identifying repeat offenders, and encouraging business owners to use security measures such as cameras. Residents are reminded to report theft through the Direct Entry Victim Reporting System (DEVRS), ensuring investigations can proceed and offenders are held accountable.
“Retail theft is taken seriously by the Regina Police Service,” said a spokesperson in the news release. “Collaboration with businesses and the public is a key part of our prevention strategy, alongside investigative follow-up to hold offenders to account.”
