SASKATOON — Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) has arrested a man after a darknet market drug trafficking investigation.
One man has been arrested by the Saskatoon Police Service Cybercrime Unit in relation to an ongoing darknet market drug trafficking investigation.
At around 10 a.m. on March 31, members of the Cybercrime Unit, Digital Forensics Unit, and Patrol executed a search warrant at an address in the 10 block of Bateman Crescent and arrested a 30-year-old man believed to be trafficking illicit drugs on several darknet markets. Through the investigation, the following evidentiary seizures were made:
- Xanax and MDMA
- 0.447 Bitcoin (Btc)
- 0.007895 Ether (Eth)
- 0.0989 Binance Coin (BNB)
- Approximately 130 TB of data storage
- Assorted computer components
As a result, the accused has been charged with trafficking controlled substances and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. Police are continuing to investigate.
