The Regina Red Sox have added more depth to their pitching staff ahead of the upcoming WCBL season, signing right-hander David Gordon and left-hander Samuel Jackson.
Gordon, a junior at Arizona Christian University, has been outstanding out of the bullpen this season. The 6-foot-4 right-hander owns a 1.38 ERA in 14 appearances, recording six saves while striking out 18 batters in 13 innings and issuing only four walks. The El Cajon, California product previously pitched at Southwestern College, where he posted a 3.60 ERA in 16 appearances in 2025.
“David is a top-tier backend arm who will be relied upon in high-leverage situations for us this season,” Red Sox manager Rye Pothakos said. “He’s a big-bodied right-hander with excellent stuff who throws strikes consistently. With well over a strikeout per inning, we’re expecting him to play a major role for us this summer.”
The Red Sox have also signed Samuel Jackson, a junior left-hander from the University of New Mexico. The 6-foot-4 pitcher from Sydney, Australia has made six appearances this season, going 1-0 with a 7.36 ERA while striking out four batters in 11 innings.
Before joining New Mexico, Jackson pitched at Howard College, where he compiled a 7-4 record over 14 appearances, including nine starts and one complete game. He struck out 56 batters over 63 innings.
“Sam is a big left-hander from Australia who gives us another versatile option on the mound,” Pothakos said. “He features three quality pitches and has the ability to contribute in multiple roles, whether that’s as a starter or in a middle relief spot. We expect him to be a strong presence for us this season.”
The additions continue to strengthen Regina’s pitching depth as the club prepares for the 2026 WCBL campaign.
