CUT KNIFE — Cut Knife RCMP received 55 calls for service between March 30 and April 5. These files include: assaults, assault with weapons, breach of peace, break and enter, driving without due care and attention, fire prevention, fraud under and over $5,000, Liquor Act, Mental Health Acts, mischiefs, ATV Act, impaired operation, theft under $5,000, trafficking drugs, 911 hang ups, failure to comply with orders, information files, well-being checks and assisting another agencies and the public.

On March 30, Nutrien Ag Solution in Cut Knife had reported a theft of fuel. The suspect was driving a black Ford truck. Photos are attached. This matter is still under investigation.
On March 30, SaskPower reported vandalism to a transformer and theft of wiring at an oil lease site in the RM of Manitou Lake. Cut Knife RCMP asks the public if they have any information or know of any suspicious vehicles in the area to please report them.
Cut Knife had an additional court sitting on April 1. Thirty-four matters were adjourned to another court date to be resolved. Even though it was April Fool’s Day, warrants were issued for eight individuals who failed to attend- this was no joke!
On April 3, Cut Knife RCMP responded to a 911 call from a house guest reporting that supper was done—a little too well done—after the homeowner burnt the steaks. The guest was trying to have the homeowner removed from their own house for this action. Members attended and spoke with the intoxicated guest, who was relocated for the remainder of the evening.
On April 3, members attended to a fight at a residence. The victim was assaulted and had a phone thrown into their face. The suspect was located, arrested and held for court.
On April 5, RCMP attended to a semi that was on fire. The semi was in the midst of driving when the driver noticed it was engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is unknown and is still being looked into. No injuries were reported.
In addition to calls received, 44 traffic stops were made, resulting in tickets, warnings, and impaired driving charges. Members also handled three Mental Health Act calls.

Members of the Cut Knife RCMP are reminding motorists that impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roadways.
The message is simple: Plan ahead.
If you intend to consume alcohol or drugs, arrange a designated driver, use a taxi or rideshare, or stay the night. Driving while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs puts lives at risk, including your own. Enforcement efforts will continue, and drivers found impaired can expect serious consequences, including licence suspension, vehicle impoundments and potential criminal charges. Make the safe choice before you start your vehicle.
