REGINA — Average retail gasoline prices in Regina have fallen 3.9 c/L in the past week, averaging 168.90 c/L Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 82 gas outlets in Regina.
That’s a recovery of about a third of the 10.1 c/L it dropped the week before.
“Gasoline prices surged for many Canadian motorists through the first half of last week before easing in some areas after oil prices slipped following President Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “However, with a breakdown in talks and renewed escalation over the weekend, Canadians should prepare for another round of price increases.”
The national average has increased 16.7 c/L during the last month and stands 44.6 c/L higher than this day one year ago, even though it fell 4.5 c/L in the last week to 176.17 c/L. Saskatoon’s prices also dropped 0.3 c/L from last week’s 172.24 c/L. Saskatchewan’s provincial average is at 169.62 c/L, flat from last week’s 169.44 c/L.
Meanwhile, global pressures are building and bear watching, says De Haan.
“The move toward a full blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is compounding global supply concerns and risks further disrupting flows, which pushed oil prices sharply higher in Sunday night trading. As a result, gasoline prices are likely to jump again this week, with diesel expected to follow, until there is a meaningful restoration of shipping through the Strait.”
According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on April 13 in Regina have ranged widely over the last five years:
138.15 c/L in 2025, 156.25 c/L in 2024, 158.95 c/L in 2023, 164.97 c/L in 2022 and 126.35 c/L in 2021.
