SWIFT CURRENT, MOOSE JAW — Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT) charged four men after fentanyl and cocaine were seized at properties in Moose Jaw and Swift Current in relation to ongoing investigations.
On March 9, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT arrested a man after illicit drugs and a prohibited firearm were seized at a residential property in Regina. The drug trafficking investigation remained ongoing. As a result, on April 10, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT obtained and executed a search warrant at a hotel on Diefenbaker Drive in Moose Jaw.
During a search of a room inside the hotel and a vehicle at the property, officers located and seized approximately 245 grams of fentanyl, 72 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two men were arrested at the hotel property.
A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man are each charged with:
- one count, trafficking – fentanyl;
- one count, trafficking – cocaine;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both accused are scheduled to appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on April 16.
Later that same day, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT executed a search warrant at a unit in an apartment building on Robert Street East in Swift Current.
Officers searched the unit and two vehicles at the property, locating and seizing approximately 282 grams of fentanyl, 556 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two men were arrested at the residential property.
A 21-year-old man, from Niagara Falls, Ont., and a 25-year-old man, from Mississauga, Ont., are each charged with:
- one count, trafficking – fentanyl;
- one count, trafficking – cocaine;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl;
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both accused appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on April 15.
Moose Jaw and Swift Current RCMP, Moose Jaw Police Service, and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team and Police Dog Services assisted in the execution of the search warrants and the apprehension of the male suspects.
