REGINA — A 43-year-old man is charged with assaulting a police officer during an arrest on April 15.
Regina police say that at approximately 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home in the Rosemont Area for a report of an unwanted guest at a residence.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect in the basement and asked him to leave the premises. The suspect didn’t comply. Officers then advised him that he was under arrest. At this point, the suspect became combative and assaulted police. Following a struggle, officers were able to bring the suspect into custody.
He has been charged with assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest.
He will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on May 27.
