JAMES SMITH CREE NATION — Three individuals have been charged in relation to a drug trafficking investigation on James Smith Cree Nation.
On April 14, Saskatchewan RCMP officers from Melfort Detachment, the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team, Police Dog Services and the Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant on James Smith Cree Nation.
Officers located and seized a small amount of cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia and a sum of cash from the residence.
Five people were arrested at the residence. Two were released without charges.
As a result of the continued investigation, a 19-year-old suspect, from Saskatoon, and two male teenagers, from Kinistin Saulteaux Nation, are each charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.
One of the male teenagers also was charged with failing to comply with a youth court order.
The accused individuals are scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on June 15.
The investigation continues.
