REGINA — Regina’s fire chief says a boiler malfunction caused a carbon monoxide leak that killed an 11-year-old boy.
Layne Jackson says the manufacturer of the natural gas-fired boiler has issued a safety notice for the model.
Henry Losco and his father, Sergio Losco, were found unconscious in their downtown apartment on Dec. 19.
Henry was declared dead at the scene, and his father was treated in hospital.
Jackson says some carbon monoxide detectors went off in the building.
But Sergio Losco says he heard no alarms go off on the fourth floor, where the family lived.
