MEADOW LAKE — Two Alberta men arrested on Buffalo River Dene Nation and charged with drug trafficking and weapons offences remain in custody.
Deng Deng and Kuol Kuol, both 21 and from Calgary, were in court on April 15 and are now scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court by CCTV from the Correctional Centre on May 20.
Their charges stem from a Dec. 4, 2025, arrest after Dillon RCMP, assisted by Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team, executed a search warrant at a home on Buffalo River Dene Nation. Officers seized approximately 484 grams of cocaine, a large sum of cash, a loaded handgun with the serial number removed, and a rifle.
Both men are charged with possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts each of careless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized.
Deng is also charged with possession of weapons contrary to a court order. Kuol faces four counts of failing to comply with release conditions and obstructing a peace officer.
