Sad news in Rider Nation.
Luke Schofield the Rider’s Ambassador to the Children’s Hospital has died.
Schofield was a standout defensive player for LeBoldas Collegiate and before that in Regina Minor Football. He had a dream to play for the U of R Rams once he finished high school.
A cancer diagnosis cut that dream short. He was in grade 11 when he was diagnosed with the same cancer Terry Fox had. After numerous surgeries and chemo sessions it seemed Schofield was cancer free. When he was 18 he was able to meet Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers in an event set up by the “Make a Wish Foundation”.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21st 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Queensbury Convention Center.
