The La Ronge Ice Wolves are heading in a new direction.
The club announced Monday it has mutually parted ways with head coach and general manager Kevin Kaminski, ending a six-year run behind the bench.
Kaminski, a former NHLer turned longtime coach, joined La Ronge in 2019 and made an immediate impact—earning SJHL Coach of the Year honours in his first season. Over his tenure, he guided the Ice Wolves to three playoff appearances and compiled a record of 146 wins across seven seasons.
However, the team has missed the postseason the last two years, and Kaminski also stepped away late this past season.
In a statement, the organization thanked Kaminski for his commitment and leadership, but indicated the move comes as the team looks to reset and explore a new path forward.
La Ronge now begins the search for its next head coach and GM as it looks to turn the page heading into the upcoming SJHL season.
