SASKATOON — Police are searching for two male suspects after a 26-year-old man was attached and robbed with a machete on Sunday night in the city’s Idylwyld Drive North area.
Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Serious Assault Unit has taken over the investigation following the incident, which occurred just before 9 p.m. on April 26.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress outside a business located in the 1100 block of Idylwyld Drive North at approximately 8:55 p.m. Initial reports indicated that a male victim had been assaulted with a machete, and that two suspects had fled the scene on foot.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from serious injuries consistent with a weapon assault. Officers provided medical care until paramedics arrived and transported the man to hospital.
One of the suspects is described as male and was wearing a black camo hoodie, blue jeans, black and white Nike shoes, and gold chains. The other suspect is described as male and was wearing a green camo hoodie, black pants and dark coloured shoes.
