SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Unit recently concluded two commercial vehicle check stop initiatives.
On April 16 and 22, officers from the Traffic Unit and Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan alongside vehicle equipment regulation technicians conducted commercial vehicle inspections in the north end of Saskatoon.
Over the two days, a total of 113 vehicle were stopped for inspection resulting in 63 tickets issued, 47 warnings, 73 vehicle and trailer violations identified, 25 vehicles and trailers were seized, towed, or taken out of service, a driver found to be impaired by drugs, and a vehicle impounded due to the driver travelling 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.
