REGINA — An investigation has been launched into vandalism at the RM of Sherwood’s municipal office.
Over the weekend, the office was sprayed with words, including ‘HEARS US,’ on the front-glass door and nearby structure.
The Regina Police Service (RPS) confirmed the RM filed a police report on Monday morning.
However, no details could be provided as the investigation remains in the early stages.
In an email response, RM of Sherwood interim reeve Ray Orb expressed his disappointment.
"While it is disappointing, we are awaiting the report from RPS before any further communications are directed to our ratepayers and to the general public.”
The vandalism occurred days after protesters gathered outside the office, urging the RM not to proceed with an agreement with Bell Canada for a new AI data centre.
Despite concerns, the RM council unanimously approved the agreement, as Bell has now started construction for the data centre.
