REGINA — A 29-year-old faces several charges after police tracked a stolen truck to a shopping centre parking lot on Sunday.
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on April 27 to face charges of theft of a vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a credit card obtained by crime, and failing to comply with a probation order.
His arrest follows an investigation that started when patrol officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Winnipeg Street just after 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Officers followed the vehicle from a distance as the suspect driver drove east, eventually parking in a shopping centre lot in the 2000 block of Prince of Whales Drive.
The driver exited the vehicle and was taken into custody, without further incident, by patrol officers and members of the Tactical Support Unit.
A search of the suspect and vehicle turned up several stolen debit, credit and prepaid cards along with cheques.
