SASKATOON — Two youths are facing numerous firearms-related charges after a routine traffic stop in the Pleasant Hill area over an expired license plate.
Shortly after 4 p.m., on April 28, a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after being notified the license plate was expired. Further investigation determined that a passenger had a warrant, and upon his arrest was found to have an air soft pistol in his backpack. Another occupant of the vehicle was also found in possession of a sawed-off rifle and ammunition.
A 15-year-old male is charged with careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm with ammunition, and possession of a prohibited firearm.
A 17-year-old male is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
