SASKATOON — A 34-year-old man is facing firearms-related charges after police discovered a sawed-off rifle and a can of bear spray during a traffic stop in the city’s west side.
According to Saskatoon Police Service, patrol officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of 23rd Street West and Avenue O North at approximately 2:15 a.m. on April 29.
While speaking with the driver, officers spotted a can of bear spray inside the vehicle, prompting them to initiate a weapons investigation. A search of the vehicle revealed a sawed-off rifle.
The man was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a prohibited firearm.
