Update:
CUT KNIFE — According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, 21-year-old Tyson Cummer was arrested May 2 at a residence in Cut Knife, following joint investigative and tactical efforts by Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit, Crime Reduction Team and Cut Knife detachment.
The RCMP said Cummer was wanted in connection with an April 28 homicide in North Battleford.
Cummer, who the RCMP said is from North Battleford, is charged with one count of second-degree murder under the Criminal Code.
He was remanded into custody and will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on May 4 at 2 p.m.
Background: The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit announced charges May 1 against Cummer in relation to the death of 36-year-old Tyson Mosquito. A warrant was issued for Cummer’s arrest.
According to the RCMP, on April 28 at approximately 4 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of an injured man in an alley behind a residence on 105th Street in North Battleford.
Officers responded and located Mosquito. He was taken to hospital by EMS where he later died.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit asked anyone who lives in the 105th Street area in North Battleford to check their home security cameras and doorbell cameras between 3:40 and 4 p.m. on April 28. If the device captured images or videos of suspicious activity, report it to police immediately.
Investigators also asked anyone who was with Mosquito in the hours or days before his death to also contact police.

There was an increased police presence in the 105th Street area in North Battleford.
