SASKATCHEWAN — A SaskAlert system test scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 at 1:55 p.m. CST has been postponed due to active incidents across the province.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) said the decision was made to avoid confusion while emergency alerts may be required for real situations.
Officials said the public will be notified when the test is rescheduled.
The SaskAlert system is used to deliver critical emergency information to residents through television, radio and compatible wireless devices.
Routine tests are conducted periodically to ensure the system is functioning properly and to maintain public awareness of how alerts are delivered.
No new date has been announced for the postponed test.
