LLOYDMINSTER, Sask., — A man was arrested Wednesday morning after police say he pointed what appeared to be a firearm at passing vehicles, including a school bus.
Police received several calls around 8:37 a.m. on May 6, reporting a male suspect aiming a weapon at traffic. Officers responded immediately, supported by the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Unit and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services.
The area was briefly shut down while units arrested the male. An imitation firearm was seized as a result.
Police say the matter remains under investigation. The male was released on conditions to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on July 6. Charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose are being considered.
