REGINA — Two 18-year-old men face several charges following a weapons offence that prompted a police response in North Central Regina Thursday night.
Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Retallack Street for a report of a weapons offence. Information received indicated multiple individuals were involved in a physical altercation. Police located a group of individuals matching the suspect descriptions. They attempted to arrest a man but the suspect didn’t comply. At this time the Police Service Dog (PSD) was used to assist in the arrest and made contact with the suspect, biting him on the arm.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and assessed and treated at the scene by EMS for injuries consistent with a dog bite.
A second suspect was also taken into custody. EMS transported him to hospital for assessment and treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.
One 18-year-old is charged with three counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, and assault.
The other one was charged with three counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, assault, and failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
