Saskatchewan residents have endured it all this spring. Snow, flooding, dry conditions, below normal cold, and a violent wind storm that blew across the province this week.
There have been numerous reports of damage in the region region as a result of Thursday’s damaging wind gusts including overturned semi-trucks on the Trans-Canada highway, an overturned camper trailer near Balgonie, broken trees, and trees that fell on to homes and vehicles. No serious injuries have been reported.

The powerful wind gusts were due to a low pressure system that swept across southern Saskatchewan causing power outages and poor visibility due to blowing dirt. As of early Friday morning, power outages were still affecting residents in the Radville, Ceylon, and Minton areas and in rural areas south of Cupar.
Environment Canada has released a list of some of the strongest wind gusts recorded at their various weather stations around the province. They say many of these values are unofficial and is not part of their final report yet.
