PELICAN NARROWS — The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit is investigating following the discovery of human remains near Pelican Narrows.
According to a news release from the RCMP, on May 13, officers located human remains during a planned search. An autopsy took place on May 15, and the RCMP said the deceased was identified as 16-year-old Jay’siiah Webb-Long, a missing person from Brampton, Ont. His family has been notified and victim services have been made available to them.
The RCMP said Jay’siiah was last in contact with family on May 16, 2025. He had been living in Pelican Narrows around the time of his disappearance. The youth was initially reported missing to Peel Regional Police.
The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit took carriage of the investigation in July 2025 and deemed his disappearance to be suspicious.
The RCMP said investigators believe Jay’siiah’s death is a homicide and an investigation continues.
