NORTH BATTLEFORD – Battlefords RCMP are investigating an assault and robbery that occurred overnight in North Battleford.
On May 25 at approximately 3:50 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a robbery near the intersection of Battleford Road and Railway Avenue in North Battleford.
Officers responded. The investigation determined an altercation occurred between a group of people. During the altercation, a man was assaulted and his truck was stolen. The man reported non-life-threatening injuries to police and was taken to hospital by EMS for further assessment.
Shortly after, Battlefords RCMP located the stolen truck. A female occupant in the truck was arrested at the scene and later released from police custody without charges.
Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Battleford Road and Railway Avenue area early May 25 to report it to police by calling 310-RCMP.
