Update: Environment Canada removed most areas from the heat warnings on May 30. One warning is still in effect for the city of Prince Albert, the district of Lakeland and communities in 31 RMs, while another warning continues for 10 areas in northern Saskatchewan.

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN — Much of Saskatchewan is now subject to an orange-level heat warning, according to Environment Canada.
Two separate warnings are now in effect. One is for the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw, along with communities in more than 240 RMs. The other is for the city of Prince Albert, the Battlefords, the district of Lakeland and communities in dozens of RMs.
The warning for the larger area states temperatures reaching 35 C, combined with overnight lows near 18 C, are expected for the next two days.
The other warning states temperatures reaching 32 C, combined with overnight lows near 14 C, are expected for the next couple of days.
A yellow-level heat warning was issued earlier in the week by Environment Canada for southern Saskatchewan. it was the first heat warning for the province this year.
"Take action to protect yourself and others; extreme heat can affect everyone's health. Determine if you or others around you are at greater risk of heat illness. Check on older adults, those living alone and other at-risk people in-person or on the phone multiple times a day," Environment Canada said in the warning.
