With temperatures soaring this week to over 30 degrees Celsius in southern Saskatchewan, the City of Regina has turned on the spray pads for the season.
In a news release from the city, Diana Burton, Director of Recreation and Cultural Services with the City says residents have free access to outdoor water play this summer.
There are 18 spray pads located throughout the city and operate from 9am to 8pm daily until mid-September. To find a spray pad near you, CLICK HERE.
According to Precision Weather’s forecast for this week, temperatures are expected to climb to 31 today, 32 on Wednesday, 36 on Thursday, 34 on Friday, and 31 on Saturday, making spray pads a popular choice for kids this week. There is a heat warning in place for Regina, Moose Jaw, Assiniboia, Weyburn, Swift Current, Maple Creek, Kindersley, Rosetown, and Lloydminster areas today.
Outdoor swimming pool opening dates are weather dependant and are currently slated to open on June 11th. Outdoor pool locations include Regent Part at 3600 McKinley Ave, Massey Pool at 100 Massey Road, Maple Leaf on 14th Ave, Buffalo Meadows on 1401 Montague, and the Wascana Outdoor Pool at 2400 Wascana Drive.
In Moose Jaw, spray pads are expected to open on May 29th.
