The president of APAS is calling this week’s moisture a billion dollar rainfall.
Many parts of southern Saskatchewan have received much-needed moisture after months of drought-like weather.
APAS president Todd Lewis farms southeast of Regina and says the rain is worth more than a million dollars.
“Oh I think you can replace the m with b and call it a billion dollar rainfall.
“Any kind of rainfall, when you look at farm cash receipts, we’re talking billions of dollars now”
Lewis says the rain will improve crop and pasture growth but more timely rains will also be needed during the growing season.
