HUMBOLDT – Humboldt RCMP are investigating a report of a suspicious male with a firearm.
On May 23 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Humboldt RCMP received a report of a suspicious male with a firearm on 8 Avenue in Humboldt.
It was reported to police that two children under the age of 10 were approached by a male in a truck. The male pointed a firearm at the children and threatened them. The firearm was not discharged. The children ran away and were not physically injured.
The suspect was described to police as a tall male with a mustache. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a shirt, pants, and a hat.
The truck the male suspect was driving was described as an older model white Chevrolet truck.
Humboldt RCMP made patrols in the area looking for the male suspect and the truck. At this time, they have not been located.
Officers are asking anyone who has information about this incident, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the 8 Avenue area in Humboldt on the evening of May 23, to contact police immediately by calling 310-RCMP. Humboldt RCMP continue to investigate. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, police say they will notify the public.
