The thermostat was really cranked across Saskatchewan on Thursday with some municipalities seeing temperatures soar past records set as far back as 1919 and 1936. In Manitoba, Dauphin and Grand Rapids both reached and slightly surpassed 37 degrees Celsius making them the hottest locations in the country.
Relief from the heat is on the way starting on Saturday. Precision Weather indicates temperatures will drop to 27 on Saturday, 25 on Sunday, and 22 on Monday with a chance of rain. The Weather Network is predicting significant rainfall between Sunday and Tuesday with totals nearing, or exceeding, 50mm in some areas.
