PRINCE ALBERT — The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit is once again asking the public for help solving the 2022 murder of Lawrence Lavallee, as his family pleads for justice four years after he was fatally shot near his home.
On May 28, 2022, just before 5:30 a.m., police responded to the 800 block of 11th Avenue East for a report that a man had been shot. When officers arrived, they found Lavallee in the 1000 block of 7th Street East with serious injuries. He was taken to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance, where he died.
Lawrence Lavallee’s mother, Shannon Lavallee, said she was speaking on behalf of Lawrence’s children, his wife, his sisters, his brother and their entire family.
“We mark four years since Lawrence Gerald Lavallee was brutally shot and murdered, steps from his home on May 28, 2022,” she said on Thursday. “Four years have passed and we are still waiting for justice. Not a single day goes by that we do not think about Lawrence.”

She said his children have had to grow up without their father and his sisters and brother have had to live with the pain of losing their brother.
“And as a mother, there are no words strong enough to describe the heartbreak of losing a child in such a violent and senseless way.”
Shannon Lavallee described her son as deeply loved.
“Our family continues to carry the pain of his loss every day. We continue to struggle with the silence, the unanswered questions and the feeling that justice has not been served.”
She then appealed to the public for help.
“We are asking the public for help. Somebody knows what happened to Lawrence. Somebody knows the truth about who took his life. We are pleading with anybody who has information to please come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could bring answers to our family and [help] find justice for Lawrence. And we're not going to give up.
“Lawrence's children deserve answers,” she added. “Our family deserves answers. And Lawrence deserves justice.”

Police ask anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area of the 1000 block of 7th Street East between 5:15 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on May 28, 2022, to contact them.
“We need people to come forward with any information, it doesn’t matter how small, and it doesn’t matter if we’ve spoken to you previously," said Sgt. Tyler Chester of the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit. "Let’s get Lawrence’s family the answers they deserve."
