REGINA — A third person has been arrested and charged in connection with the 2024 death of a man on the White Bear First Nations.
According to a news release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Seth Beasley was arrested by the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) on April 23 in Regina.
The RCMP said Beasley was wanted on a warrant by Carlyle RCMP for charges including manslaughter and forcible confinement, which were laid in relation to the December 2024 death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder.
Beasley is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on June 4.
Jeremy Whitebear is charged with first-degree murder in Lonethunder's death, while Dwayne Maxie, 27, is accused of manslaughter.
Background: At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 3, 2024, the Carlyle RCMP received a report of an injured individual at a residence at White Bear. Officers located the 33-year-old Lonethunder deceased.
Charges were announced Dec. 5, 2024. Both men were on the run at the time. Whitebear was arrested two days later at White Bear. Maxie was apprehended Dec. 12 in Regina.
A preliminary hearing was held for Maxie and Whitebear in October 2025 in Estevan. A trial date for the two men has been tentatively set for Sept. 13-Oct. 1, 2027 in Estevan Court of King's Bench.
