The Ag Transport Coalition reports week 42 saw performance improve from the prior week, with CN and CPKC Rail combined, supplying 95% of shipper orders, as compared to 91% order fulfillment performance seen the prior week.
Both railways saw performance improve, although more notably CPKC.
This marks the first time we have seen both railways with order fulfillment of 90% or better in the same week since early January.
System performance remains above the 90% threshold for a third consecutive week.
In supplying 91% of cars ordered by shippers in week 42, CN saw modest improvement from the 89% order fulfillment performance seen in each of weeks 40 and 41.
CN performance returns above the 90% threshold for the first time in eight weeks.
In supplying 99% of shipper orders, CPKC saw performance improve from the 92% order fulfillment performance seen in week 41.
This represents the best performance by CPKC since week 2 at the beginning of the grain year, with performance now having been above the 90% performance threshold for three consecutive weeks.
