REGINA — A man faces robbery and weapons offences after an incident in the city’s northwest end on May 30.
Regina police were called to a business in the 1900 block of Rupert Street at about 5 a.m. for a report of a robbery. The caller said three people had arrived at the location armed with an axe and a knife. They threatened the victim, stole keys to a rental vehicle, cash, and a cell phone before leaving the area in the rental vehicle.
Police say their investigation determined the suspects later returned to the location, retrieved a second vehicle and drove away. At approximately 4 p.m. that same day, officers with the Criminal Investigations Unit located the second vehicle at a residence in the 800 block of Elphinstone Street. Two individuals were arrested, one in relation to the robbery, and another on an outstanding warrant.
The man charged in connection with the robbery faces charges theft of a vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime valued under $5,000, and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
He appeared in Regina court June 1.
