REGINA — The highest-paid city workers for 2025 have been released.
According to a draft of the city’s published accounts, former city manager Niki Anderson was the highest-paid employee, receiving $460,381 in total compensation, including regular remuneration of $214,916 and $245,465 in other earnings.
The city fired Anderson in late July for an undisclosed reason.
A permanent replacement for Anderson still has yet to be found, as Jim Nicol is currently serving as interim city manager.
Another departed employee, former Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) president and CEO, Roberta Engel, made $343,241.
Engel resigned from REAL in April, as REAL has gone through numerous changes in its leadership since her departure.
The future of REAL is still up in the air, as Regina city council will receive a report in the coming months on potentially dissolving the organization.
Turning over to the Regina Police Service (RPS), former chief Farooq Sheikh earned $306,417, $276.654 from regular remuneration and $29,763 from other earnings.
Regina’s Board of Police Commissioners fired Sheikh in October after a Public Complaints Commission investigation found misconduct regarding his trying to communicate with a member of the board in a closed-door meeting about his contract details.
Shortly after his firing, Lorilee Davies became the new RPS Chief.
In 2025, Davies earned $291,010, $277,999 from regular remuneration and $13,011 from other earnings.
As for Mayor Chad Bachynski, he earned $166,891 in 2025. His fellow council colleagues all had a base salary of $67,665.
