The La Ronge Ice Wolves have found their new bench boss.
The club has announced the hiring of Taylor Harnett as Head Coach and Assistant General Manager, filling the vacancy created after the organization and former head coach Kevin Kaminski mutually agreed to part ways earlier this spring.
Harnett brings more than a decade of junior hockey coaching experience to La Ronge, including stops in the BCHL, NAHL, MJHL and AJHL. Most recently, he served as Head Coach and General Manager of the Devon Xtreme in the Alberta Junior Hockey League during the 2025-26 season.
Prior to that, the Carry the Kettle First Nation member spent seven seasons behind the bench of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. During his tenure, the Wolverines made three playoff appearances and he was nominated for MJHL Coach of the Year and has coached at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships.
Harnett says he's eager to become part of the Ice Wolves organization and the La Ronge community.
"I'm extremely excited to get directly involved in the community and to get to know the fans, players and staff," said Harnett. "It's truly an honour, and the support I have been shown already has been amazing. I've heard great things about the community and the program. I'm thrilled to be able to connect and coordinate with GM Bob Beatty. His knowledge and experience is seasoned and proficient, and I can't wait to get started."
Harnett takes over for Kaminski, who had led the Ice Wolves since 2019.
